Saturday Afternoon

One question I get from a lot of people is, "Why do you do this trip in February?" After the weather earlier in the week I was beginning to ask the same thing. This afternoon was a perfect example of why we do it. Our itinerary had one thing on it for this afternoon but due to less traffic and fewer tourists, we were able to do three more things.

We started by riding the Metro to Arlington Cemetery where we were able to watch the changing of the guards and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We then went to the National Botanical Gardens. We finished the afternoon with souvenir shopping and going to the National Portrait Gallery.

We're currently on the Potomac dinner cruise.
